Following Israel’s strikes on Tehran, Iran has retaliated with missile attacks of its own, some of which penetrated the Iron Dome and struck Tel Aviv. With both nations refusing to de-escalate, tensions are intensifying. For now, the major global powers—the US, China, and Russia—have stated they will not get directly involved.

Markets remain firmly in risk-off mode, driven by fear of further escalation. On Polymarket, the odds of a nuclear weapon being detonated in 2025 have surged from 13% to 23% in just two days—a stark reflection of the deteriorating sentiment in the wake of the Middle East conflict.

Bitcoin’s Fear & Greed Index has dipped to 63, though still technically in ‘greed’ territory. Broader markets echoed the unease: risk-on markets like the Nasdaq and S&P 500 pulled back, while Gold and Oil rallied strongly. Interestingly, Bitcoin defied the trend, recovering from an intraday drop of nearly 3% to close green on the day.

The Bigger Picture

While this conflict shows no signs of abating in the near term and remains the key driver of market movements, it’s important to remember that geopolitical shocks are not new to markets. Historically, while initial sell-offs occur, seasoned investors use such fear-driven dislocations as opportunities. Bitcoin has weathered similar storms—and emerged stronger.

Stay focused. Stay convicted. When fear dominates, accumulation favours the brave.

Stormrake Spotlight: Bittensor (TAO) ($371)

TAO closed the session down 2.45%, in line with broader altcoin weakness, after facing an intraday drawdown of over 8%. Encouragingly, the daily low held above the previous lower low. If this marks a higher low, the bullish structure remains intact, and the next leg up could be imminent. However, TAO will continue to mirror altcoin sentiment—currently tethered to Bitcoin’s macro-driven price path.

BTC/USD Key Levels and Price Action:

Bitcoin bounced from support just above $102K, aided by the CPR levels. It has reclaimed the $104K mark, but structural concerns remain. The prevailing pattern is still characterised by lower highs and lower lows. Momentum also favours the bears. For the bulls to regain control, BTC must break above the recent lower high at $108.5K.

Geopolitical tensions are once again steering market direction. From shifting tariff dynamics to intensifying conflict in the Middle East, risk-off sentiment is dominating.

JUST IN: Israel has launched strikes on Tehran. This development had been brewing for the last 48 hours, with tensions between the two nations rising sharply. A response was expected—Trump even confirmed that US personnel were being repositioned across the region ahead of the action.

J.P. Morgan reported that if a full-scale conflict unfolds, oil could surge to $120 per barrel, pushing US CPI inflation back toward 5%—a scenario that could reignite the rate hike conversation. While Trump has made energy cost control a key priority in curbing inflation, such a spike in oil would undo much of that progress and rattle risk assets across the board.

With retaliation from Iran likely on the horizon, safe haven assets are climbing. Oil is up nearly 4% on the hour, and over 10% for the week. Gold has surged past $3,400, as capital flows defensively.

In contrast, Bitcoin is taking a hit—down nearly 2% in the past hour, now trading below $104,000. Altcoins are bleeding even more. In these environments, Bitcoin dominance tends to rise as capital consolidates into the relative safety of BTC while sidelining altcoins.

While these pullbacks can be uncomfortable, it’s worth remembering this isn’t Bitcoin’s first brush with geopolitical risk. Historically, these moments of fear have provided long-term buying opportunities. The macro trend remains bullish—but in the short term, noise is back in control.

Last night brought one of the week’s key events: US inflation data. June’s CPI print came in cooler than expected—typically a bullish signal for risk-on assets. Both core and headline CPI came in at 0.1% month-over-month, below forecasts of 0.2% and 0.3% respectively. Year-over-year, headline CPI printed at 2.4%, just under the 2.5% consensus. Inflation is seemingly cooling, but the likelihood of the Fed holding rates steady at next week’s decision remains near 100%.

Before the release, Bitcoin was struggling to hold key levels and had slipped over 1%. Once the data hit, risk assets rallied—USD dropped and Bitcoin surged back above $110K, gaining nearly 1.3% in the two hours following the CPI release.

However, by this morning, sentiment had shifted. Bitcoin failed to build on that bullish momentum and now trades lower than it did yesterday. In contrast, Gold continued to climb even as the dollar extended its decline. This divergence signals a rotation out of USD into Gold as a safe haven, while Bitcoin is still being treated as a risk-on asset—mirroring the Nasdaq’s overnight pullback.

Bitcoin’s 1.5% drop trickled down into the altcoin market, which sold off more aggressively. Bitcoin dominance saw a reversal, closing green after being down 0.5% intraday. The risk-off tone saw capital flow out of altcoins and rotate back into Bitcoin. Structurally, BTC still looks strong—this is a consolidation phase, not a breakdown. The next move could very well be a breakout to fresh all-time highs.

Stormrake Spotlight: Bittensor (TAO) ($402)

TAO faced dual headwinds: Bitcoin’s overnight weakness and resistance from its CPR level. It’s down nearly 5% over the past 24 hours and appears to have marked a short-term top. A bullish structure requires a higher low—anything above $347 would technically suffice, though confluence between $370–$390 makes that zone a more likely base for a reversal.

BTC/USD Key Levels and Price Action:

Bitcoin lost the battle at $109.5K, a critical level. Momentum is now leaning bearish as BTC trades beneath the 55EMA, with the 21EMA on the verge of a bearish crossover. Eyes now turn to the 200MAs for support. Bulls should stay composed—BTC remains structurally intact as long as it holds above $104K.

Whispers of an altseason are turning into murmurs, not just across the X timeline, but within the charts themselves. Ethereum is beginning to outperform Bitcoin, and it’s not alone. Key Ethereum-based protocols like Uniswap, Lido, ENS, and even memecoins like Pepe and SPX6900 are leading the charge.

After a bullish few days, Bitcoin has taken a breather, consolidating just below $110K over the past 24 hours with a modest 0.45% decline. Meanwhile, altcoins continued to push higher, with the total altcoin market cap climbing 2%. Bitcoin dominance dropped by nearly 1%, its steepest decline in almost a month.

It’s important to note that a true altseason typically kicks off when Ethereum’s dominance begins to fade, but right now, it looks like ETH is just warming up. Ethereum dominance jumped over 4% yesterday and is breaking out, approaching 10%. That means Ethereum now makes up nearly 10% of the total crypto market, having surged over 40% since late April.

Ethereum vs Bitcoin:

Ethereum continues to hold its breakout against Bitcoin, a classic early signal of altseason as capital rotates from BTC into ETH. ETHBTC is poised for another breakout, supported by bullish momentum and structure. If it clears the resistance that’s rejected price twice before, the 0.03 target is well within reach, suggesting Ethereum’s outperformance could continue in the weeks ahead.

Stormrake Spotlight: Bittensor (TAO) ($421)

TAO has pushed above the CPR resistance, even printing a higher high, a constructive sign. The bulls are clearly stirring. What we need to see now is a higher low, which would confirm the return of full bullish control. The structure is developing nicely, but follow-through is key.

BTC/USD Key Levels and Price Action:

Bitcoin is consolidating around the key support level at $109.5K. Momentum remains strong and the structure is bullish, bouncing off the 21EMA and forming another higher low. As long as this support holds, BTC appears primed for another leg up and potentially a new all-time high.

To think that just three days ago Bitcoin was teetering on the edge of a corrective phase, struggling to hold above $100K—now it’s knocking on the door of yet another all-time high. Since the Trump/Musk fallout, Bitcoin has surged over 10%, dragging the rest of the market into a sea of green as altcoins ride the wave of Bitcoin’s momentum.

Despite the altcoin rally, Bitcoin dominance continues to climb, now quietly approaching the 65% mark once again. It’s a clear signal: Bitcoin remains the market’s primary engine, and the rotation trade into altcoins isn’t quite here yet. Meanwhile, in traditional markets, the S&P 500 has closed back above 6,000 for the first time since late February. Silver continues to outperform in the commodities space, while Tesla saw a bounce after Trump clarified he wasn’t abandoning his Tesla—going as far as to praise Starlink and wish Elon Musk well.

US–China trade negotiations resumed this week, with yesterday’s session reportedly lasting over six hours and discussions set to continue today. Any developments here could feed into macro volatility in the coming sessions.

Bitcoin now looks poised to enter price discovery and blue-sky territory. Sentiment continues to improve, with the Fear & Greed Index climbing to 71, flirting with extreme greed, another clear sign the bulls remain firmly in control. If momentum holds and macro risks stay muted, a fresh all-time high this week looks well within reach.

TAO has rallied nearly 10% in the past 24 hours, reclaiming the 21EMA and keeping momentum squarely with the bulls. Immediate resistance sits at the CPR zone around current levels, but a breakout above the blue horizontal confluence should open the door to $500. A move above would confirm a bullish structure in play.

Bitcoin has decisively broken through several major resistance levels, blitzing past the $107K supply zone and flipping $109.5K from resistance into support. The bulls are commanding the field here. All eyes are now on the all-time high just shy of $112K. A clean breakout could target $113K and propel us deeper into price discovery.

It was a successful weekend for Bitcoin, which built on Friday’s momentum despite a quiet macro backdrop. Price action did exactly what it needed to, reclaiming the entire Trump vs Musk pullback and restoring confidence among bulls.

As for the Trump vs Musk saga itself, it seems to have reached a definitive rupture. Trump declared his relationship with Musk is “over” and claimed he has “more serious things to do than talk to Elon,” even going as far as to issue threats if Musk finances the Democrats. While it makes for a headline-worthy feud, markets have already moved on. After the initial pullback, the dust has settled, and the market is now acting independently of this drama.

More significantly, Bitcoin has not only regained bullish momentum, it’s created a higher high and flipped structure back in favour of the bulls, completing a textbook V-shaped reversal. This shift comes at a critical time, with CPI inflation data due later this week and a new round of China–US trade talks scheduled to resume. Bitcoin has now positioned itself firmly ahead of a potentially volatile macro week.

Stormrake Spotlight: Bittensor (TAO) ($385)

TAO rode Bitcoin’s momentum over the weekend, reclaiming two key moving averages and trading above levels seen prior to the Trump–Musk fallout. Now back inside a pivotal price range, TAO must hold and reclaim the 21EMA to the bulls hope. If successful, bulls will likely target the recent lower high around $440.

Bitcoin has now completed its V-shaped recovery, with a confirmed structure of higher highs and higher lows. It’s testing resistance from the bearish supply zone just above $106K—an area that may continue to stall momentum. However, the uptrend remains intact as long as Bitcoin prints a higher low above the key $104K support. A sustained hold above that level would keep bulls firmly in control.

After the public fallout between Donald Trump and Elon Musk, Bitcoin tumbled back to $100K, dragging sentiment into fear territory. However, over the past 24 hours, BTC has staged a sharp rebound—ripping back above $104K with a textbook ‘V-shaped’ recovery that nearly erases the entire pullback. As a result, sentiment has shifted back into neutral territory, with the Fear & Greed Index now reading 52, up from yesterday’s fear levels.

Altcoins joined the bounce, but unlike Bitcoin, most remain below their pre-fallout levels. The exception was Sui, which surged nearly 10% and is now trading above where it stood before the political disruption.

Trump Refocuses on Powell

The White House swiftly shut down rumours of a Trump–Musk phone call, signalling no progress on that front. Instead, Trump has pivoted back to Jerome Powell, posting repeatedly on Truth Social. He called Powell “Mr Too Late” and urged a 100bps rate cut at the next FOMC meeting—suggesting that even if inflation ticks back up, rates could be raised again. Trump also teased that he’s ready to announce his pick for the next Fed Chair.

All this sets the stage for Thursday night’s CPI print, a key data point that will shape expectations ahead of the Fed’s interest rate decision the following week.

Weekend Watch: Bitcoin at a Crossroads

This weekend is critical. The momentum BTC reclaimed must hold to set the tone for what’s likely to be a volatile week. If strength continues, bulls could be gearing up for a push to new all-time highs. But a rejection could drag BTC back below the $100K mark.

Stormrake Spotlight: Bittensor (TAO) ($367)

TAO mirrored the broader altcoin market—bouncing 4.5% on the day—but still trades below pre-fallout levels. Price respected CPR support at $347, which now acts as the key short-term level. The bears are pressing, attempting to stall the recovery.

As noted yesterday, TAO will follow BTC’s lead, so the path of least resistance still lies with Bitcoin’s next move.

BTC/USD Key Levels and Price Action:

The ‘V-shaped’ recovery is a clear bullish signal, suggesting that the initial breakdown lacked conviction. Not only has BTC reclaimed the $104K level, but momentum has also flipped back to the bulls.

That said, overall structure remains in bear control—we’re still printing lower highs and lower lows. For full confirmation, BTC must break the previous high to reassert a bullish structure. Failure to do so could bring a retest of the recent low.

Crypto markets took a sharp turn as tensions between the White House’s dynamic duo, President Donald Trump and his long-time ally Elon Musk, boiled over into a very public feud. Once seen as inseparable during the campaign trail, with Musk widely credited as a pivotal force behind Trump’s November victory, the alliance appears to have unravelled.

Only months ago, they were side by side in the Oval Office, Trump signing executive orders favouring Tesla, and even granting Musk leadership of a bespoke agency, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). But the political honeymoon is over.

Rumours had been circulating that Musk had exited the Trump administration. Those whispers turned to headlines overnight as both figures fired shots across social media, Musk on X, Trump on Truth Social. The back-and-forth barbs left little doubt: the bromance is dead.

Markets React with Volatility

The political drama injected a fresh wave of uncertainty across markets, compounding already fragile sentiment from escalating Eastern European tensions and rocky tariff negotiations. Risk appetite dried up.

Traditional indices closed red across the board. Tesla, in particular, plunged nearly 15%, a sharp outlier driven by the fallout. In crypto, the pain was more measured but no less meaningful. Bitcoin slid 3%, Ethereum fell 7.5%, and altcoins bled deeper. The Fear & Greed Index for Bitcoin dropped to 45, slipping back into "fear" territory for the first time since late April.

As Lyn Alden aptly put it, “Nothing stops this train”—and in the context of US debt, it couldn’t be more accurate. The fiscal circus playing out in Washington has been on full display this past week, with political figures from all sides weighing in as the numbers become impossible to ignore.

The US national debt has surged to a staggering $36.21 trillion, setting yet another all-time high. This runaway train shows no signs of slowing. Even the Department of Government Efficiency can’t rein in spending meaningfully. Elon Musk, speaking under his DOGE persona, highlighted that interest payments alone now consume 25% of all US government revenue, describing the situation as "debt slavery" for Americans.

Vivek Ramaswamy added fuel to the fire, noting that the US now spends more on debt interest than the entire military budget, with projections suggesting the debt could balloon to $60 trillion within the next decade.

Despite this fiscal brinkmanship, Treasury Secretary Bessent assured markets that the US is "never going to default." Yet, in a rare moment of agreement, Trump and Senator Warren have floated the idea of removing the debt ceiling altogether, a move that would give the government unlimited borrowing power. If mishandled, this could dangerously inflate the debt-to-GDP ratio even further.

But a potential lifeline is emerging from an unexpected source. Senator Cynthia Lummis has proposed that a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve could eliminate half of America’s debt burden.

TAO is teetering within its key support zone, and any break below could hand control to the bears. Still, the 55 and 200 EMAs are acting as critical support levels, which could offer near-term relief.

But let’s be clear—TAO will mirror Bitcoin's trajectory. If Bitcoin pulls back, TAO is almost certain to follow.

BTC/USD Key Levels and Price Action:

Bitcoin has lost short-term momentum after yet another rejection at the 0.5 Fibonacci level and 200 EMA resistance at $106K. It now eyes $104K—a crucial support that must hold to avoid slipping back to the $101K zone.

The consolidation range between $106.6K and $104K remains in play. Until either boundary is broken, the structure is technically neutral—but momentum currently favors the bears.

Ethereum has been the clear underperformer of this cycle—still down nearly 50% from its all-time high and nowhere near setting a new one. It hasn’t been able to sustain any meaningful bullish momentum throughout this entire run; every attempt has been met with renewed selling pressure, consistently dragging prices lower.

But for the first time this year, ETH is showing signs of life. After bottoming out at $1,380 in early April, Ethereum has nearly doubled in just eight weeks—significantly outperforming most other cryptocurrencies. This marks the first rally where ETH has managed to sustain and consolidate gains after a breakout, rather than reversing and resuming its downtrend.

This move has been fuelled by institutional demand. Over the past three days of ETF trading, Ethereum has consistently seen net inflows—while Bitcoin ETFs have recorded three consecutive days of outflows. Since May 16, every trading day has brought net inflows into the Ethereum ETF. In parallel, just yesterday it was reported that BlackRock had sold 1,250 BTC (worth $132.72 million) while purchasing 19,070.96 ETH (worth $48.4 million). This suggests that the rally is not just speculative—it’s backed by real institutional accumulation.
The chart above shows Ethereum finally breaking out against Bitcoin. ETH has been in a persistent downtrend relative to BTC since 2021 and hasn’t come close to revisiting its 2017 high of 0.15. While it’s unlikely ETH will return to those previous highs, this breakout is giving holders a much-needed sense of hope. The structure and momentum of ETHBTC have now flipped bullish, indicating that capital is beginning to rotate out of Bitcoin and into Ethereum.

Crucially, ETH is now consolidating above the breakout level—something that didn’t occur during previous rallies, which were swiftly rejected. If this consolidation holds, we could see ETHBTC push towards 0.029–0.03.

This doesn’t mean Bitcoin won’t continue its push toward new all-time highs. It simply suggests that, in the short term, Ethereum may outperform. Historically, this BTC-to-ETH rotation has signalled the start of altseason. It’s still early days—but keep an eye on the ETHBTC chart.

Stormrake Spotlight: Bittensor (TAO) ($393)

TAO has retraced back to the key support zone at $390 after failing to break above the 21EMA over the weekend. It has since bounced nearly 2% from this support and the 55EMA. This level is critical for bulls to defend—failure to hold it could lead to a bearish breakdown and further downside.

BTC/USD Key Levels and Price Action:

Bitcoin managed to fill and neutralise the first bearish supply zone at $106K yesterday. As anticipated, it reached the next zone around $106.7K, which proved too strong for bulls and triggered a reversal. This confluence of the 0.618 fib level and supply zone is pivotal—if BTC breaks above it, we could see a move towards $109K and potentially a retest of the all-time high.

Momentum still favours the bulls, but it’s being tested as BTC battles to stay above the 21 and 55EMA. A failure to hold these levels could send BTC back to $104K, flipping momentum in favour of the bears.
